It's back - Charley's Cryptic Crossword
Rules are simple I put the clues up - all you WHO clever arses solve them.
I have the answers, I will occasionally put a bit of a stinker clue in, to slow you down 16 clues a day = 80 per week = 320 per month

I can't guarantee will be able to set/provide the answers everyday or give everybody an encouraging pat on the back

I had to Google it too - I was unaware of the variant Janizary of Janissary.

It exists, but I suspect there are very few people know that without looking it up, who haven't got a doctorate in Turkish history.

Where does the clue say to drop the U from January? I see that the IZ comes from one unknown.
